Resources
During this harrowing and yet revolutionary time, the members of First Kiss Theatre Company continue to strive to be active citizens and allies in order to confront the social perils of our time, including, but not limited to, racism, sexism, anti-semitism, ableism, colonialism, ethnic discrimination, and agism. With an intersectional understanding, we aspire to fight oppression, in any form, with the best of ourselves and the best of our art. We continue to educate ourselves, open our wallets if we find ourselves able, march for human rights if we find ourselves able, and do our part to work for and with the peoples and planet we find ourselves immersed in. We encourage you to do so as well, without any agenda of our own.
We recognize that compiling lists of resources inherently comes with the biases of whomever created the list, but we still offer up this as a starting place for research and further education. There is still so much more to learn and to be aware of beyond this humble resource guide. We personally recommend dialogue, debate, and confronting hard topics in conversation as a way to exercise active citizenship.
Below is an extensive list of organizations, resources and causes we support, admire, and have been learning from as we study how the world Discriminates, Oppresses, Marginalizes, Exploits, and Disenfranchises. We regularly update this list.
