Play in a Day, or “PIAD,” is First Kiss Theatre Company’s take on a 24-hour play festival. What is a 24-hour play festival, you might be asking? It’s an event in which artists come together to write, direct, design, and perform a completely new short play, all accomplished in a 24 hour time period. What makes Play in a Day unique, you might also be asking? For our 24-hour play festival, FKT is committed to making strategically “match-made” teams of artists, providing surprise twist and turn challenge elements revealed day-of… oh, and Play in a Day is 100% virtual. That means that ANYONE ANYWHERE can participate in Play in a Day – from seasoned to completely new artists, ALL ARE WELCOME! In the past we’ve had participants participate in this event from across the country – New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Alaska – even internationally.

2025 will be the FIFTH YEAR of PIAD – How will you use the virtual medium to your advantage? What wacky work will you churn out with your collaborators?
