Soup Brain is an exercise in vulnerability. I wrote the poem in my bedroom in Brooklyn and recorded it late one night at my parents’ house in North Carolina. The video is of the ocean at Emerald Isle, filmed the day after Christmas and filtered to look the way the inside of my head feels at all times.
